APRIL IS POETRY MONTH !

Kids love to recite poetry from a book.  Their favorite seems to be Shel Silverstein's "Where the Sidewalk Ends!"  Kids also love to create their own poems!  The following are pictures kids enjoying poetry month during their lunch breaks.

The more you read,

the more you know.

The more you know,

the smarter you grow.

The smarter you grow,

the stronger your voice,

When speaking your mind,

or making your choice.

Mrs. Yao is challenging the students to memorize the poem to the left.  The reward is one jelly bean.  At the end of the month students will write the poem from memory on a beautiful hand made magnet to hang on their refrigerator.  We hope you enjoy the pleasure of reading poetry and the reasons for reading more.
